Virtual Town Hall For Heights Small Businesses On Thursday

State Rep. Janine Boyd is hosting a town hall on resources for small businesses during the era of COVID-19.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — On Thursday, state Rep. Janine Boyd will host a virtual town hall on resources for small businesses.

“Small businesses are the corner stone of our communities. They are run by your family, friends, and neighbors. To neglect our small and micro-businesses is tantamount to neglecting our community, especially in a district like ours that encompasses Cleveland Heights, Shaker Heights, University Heights, and parts of Wards 2 and 4 of Cleveland,” Boyd said.

The town hall will begin at noon and will last approximately one hour. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees can join the meeting through Facebook.

The town hall will feature representatives from the Economic & Community Development Institute (ECDI), a statewide Small Business Administration lender, which provides small business loans to low-income, low-wealth and other disadvantaged people and communities.

“Representative Boyd has dedicated her public career in investing in working families and small businesses in Ohio, and as the only SBA microlender in Ohio, ECDI is the front line of support for small businesses that are affected by the pandemic. “There is overwhelming need in the small business community,” said ECDI Founder and CEO Inna Kinney. “To meet the sharp increase in demand for capital caused by the economic downturn, we have increased our loan volume by more than 300% over the last five months.”
