5 Reported Killed In Oklahoma Plane Crash

The plane crashed shortly after take off on Saturday, according to the FAA.

PONCA CITY, OK — Five people were reportedly killed in a plane crash in Ponca City Saturday shortly after take off.

An FAA spokesman told Patch the plane, single-engine Extra EA400, crashed under unknown circumstances just before noon and was destroyed in a post-crash fire.

At least six people were on board the plane, according to the FAA. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol told KTUL that five people, three adults and two children, were killed in the crash.

KTUL reported the plane was headed to Independence, Kansas.

The NTSB and the FAA are investigating.
