ENID, OK — A Garfield County sheriff and five others have been charged with manslaughter in the death of an inmate last year who was tied to a chair for two days without enough food or water.

A grand jury indicted Sheriff Jerry Niles and five others who worked at the jail on second-degree manslaughter charges in the death of Anthony Huff, 58. State Attorney General Mike Hunter announced the charges Tuesday.

Attorney Stephen Jones entered a not-guilty plea for Niles. Niles was booked and released at the Garfield County jail after posting $15,000 bond. Niles could not be reached for comment.
