1. Catholic Charities unveil community of Affordable Homes (kfor.com) — A new 12-unit Caritas Casitas community near SW 10th and Agnew is giving formerly homeless Oklahoma City residents fully furnished, affordable homes built by BOXABL. Backed by Catholic Charities and the City of Oklahoma City, the small homes cost about $850 a month with utilities included and free Wi‑Fi, and residents can take their furnishings when they move on.
   

2. Oklahoma City bike lane expansion on Classen Boulevard halted (koco.com) — A key protected bike lane expansion on Classen Boulevard in Oklahoma City is on hold as city staff and council members reconsider whether to narrow the busy corridor. Cyclists and residents packed a recent council meeting to argue over safety, traffic, and the city’s BikeWalkOKC master plan. A moratorium resolution is expected Dec. 30, and advocates are hosting an information session tonight.
   

3. Trial set for Oklahoma City police officer accused of rape (kfor.com) — An Oklahoma City police officer is headed to trial in May after pleading not guilty in Canadian County to multiple felony charges stemming from an alleged 2024 assault on his ex-girlfriend. The officer remains on paid administrative leave from the Oklahoma City Police Department, is under a protective order, and faces strict court deadlines as his attorneys prepare motions in the case.
   

4. Police search for woman wanted in vehicular homicide, believed headed to Oklahoma (okcfox.com) — Law enforcement in Tennessee is asking Oklahoma residents, including those in Oklahoma City, to watch for a 38-year-old woman wanted in connection with a fatal crash who may be traveling toward the state with a man and a camper. Authorities are sharing a phone number and email for tips as they try to track her down across state lines.
   

5. OWCC approves rule changes (easterntimesregister.com) — State wildlife commissioners meeting in Oklahoma City on Dec. 8 approved a broad package of hunting and fishing rule changes that will take effect after legislative and gubernatorial review. The updates tweak size limits on several fish species, regulate drone use for scouting game, and formalize rules for new wildlife areas. Most changes won’t immediately affect Sequoyah County but matter statewide.
