$1 Million Lottery Ticket Sold In North Smithfield To Expire

The Mega Millions ticket was purchased at Season's Corner Market on March 14 in 2020 and the winning number was drawn on St. Patrick's Day.

NORTH SMITHFIELD, RI — Local residents are being urged to check their glove compartments and kitchen drawers to look for a one-year-old lottery ticket.

That's because a $1 million Mega Millions ticket sold on March 14, 2020 at Season's Corner Market in North Smithfield has gone unclaimed and is set to expire on Wednesday, March 17. The winning numbers were drawn last year on St. Patrick’s Day.

According to the Rhode Island Lottery, players have a year from the date of the drawing to claim their ticket. If the prize goes unclaimed, the funds will be turned over to the state`s general fund.
