1 Seriously Injured In North Smithfield Fire
The fire broke out on Old Pound Hill Road around 4 a.m. Thursday.
NORTH SMITHFIELD, RI — One person has been hospitalized with serious injuries following a three-alarm fire that broke out at a North Smithfield home Thursday morning, reported WPRI.
Firefighters responded to the home on Old Pound Hill Road at approximately 4 a.m. and found the home fully engulfed in flames.
Two other people who were inside at the home were able to get out on their own and one was taken to a hospital for an evaluation.

According to Fire Chief David Chartier, crews from several different communities struggled to get the fire under control due to difficulty getting water to the home.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation and no further information has been released.
