North Smithfield Days: Movies, History, Food Trucks, Fireworks

Fireworks are planned for Saturday night, a Friday farm dinner is sold out, and a documentary film screening is set for Thursday.

NORTH SMITHFIELD, RI — The North Smithfield Days celebration is back this year, and people from near and far are invited to visit the historic town on July 8, 9, and 10.

Here's the schedule of events:

Thursday, July 8:

7:30 p.m.: Head over to the North Smithfield High School Auditorium for a preview screening of a documentary segment by acclaimed filmmaker Christian de Rezendes. Slatersville: America’s First Mill Village, will premiere on Rhode Island PBS in 2022. “The War” covers World War II on the homefront in Slatersville. FREE.

8:45 p.m.: Family Movie Night at Pacheco Park. FREE.

Friday, July 9:

POSTPONED UNTIL Friday July 16!
6 p.m.:
Fundraiser Dinner Under The Stars at Goodwin's Farm with executive chef Ryan Sherlock. SOLD OUT but a limited number of tickets could become available due to the rescheduling

Saturday, July 10 - 'Slatersville Saturday'

9 a.m.: Walking tour of Slatersville starting at Memorial Town Hall. FREE.

10 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Kids Day in Pacheco Park. Bring a bathing suit and towel to cool off with the North Smithfield Fire Department. FREE.

6:30 p.m.: Grand Finale Event at North Smithfield High School grounds. A DJ and food trucks will be on the scene.

9 p.m.: Fireworks at North Smithfield High School.

Organizers say Lt. Governor Sabina Matos is expected to attend the film screening and the Kids Day event at around 11:30 a.m.
