Wright's Ice Cream In North Smithfield Named Best in RI

Wright's Dairy Farm & Bakery offers "all sorts of reasons to pay a visit," stated Food & Wine Magazine.

NORTH SMITHFIELD, RI — Wright's Dairy Farm & Bakery offers the best ice cream in Rhode Island, according to the most recent of nationwide rankings published by Food & Wine.

And it's not just the ice cream: "From humble custard pies to elaborate wedding cakes to cones piled high with ice creams in all kinds of classic New England flavors, there are all sorts of reasons to pay a visit to Wright's," the gourmet publication stated in its best-of list from all 50 states.

Wright's, in business for nearly a century, has a bakery as well as a scoop shop, leading to "crossover ideas," the evaluators noted. Food & Wine said one of the finest flavors is Compost Cream, "a vanilla ice cream ribboned with chocolate ganache and stuffed with cookies, from pecan diamonds to coconutty magic bars."

The Wright Scoop is billed as "Rhode Island's Only Cow To Cone" ice cream. Wright's consistently wins awards for its version of the popular frozen dessert. The farm, bakery and scoop shop can be found at 200 Woonsocket Hill Rd. in North Smithfield. They are scooping cones at the Blount Clam Shack on the Waterfront at 335 Water Street in Warren.
