Currently a resident of Dana Point, in 2000 Debra Lewis was elected to Rancho Santa Margarita's City Council and served as the City's First Mayor. Since moving into Dana Point in 2011, Ms. Lewis has been active in local issues. In November 2016, Ms. Lewis was elected to Dana Point's City Council and was immediately selected to serve as the City's Mayor from December 2016 through December 2017. Ms. Lewis is currently a Dana Point City Council member. Before retirement, Ms. Lewis was a practicing attorney for over 30 years, emphasizing business law and civil litigation. She has been married to her college sweetheart, Steve, for 46 years. They have 2 children and 4 grandchildren.
