Bio: Jared served as editor-in-chief for the Santa Monica College newspaper, the Corsair, in 2008 and as staff reporter on the Daily Sundial in 2009 while studying print journalism at California State University, Northridge, where he earned his bachelor's degree. Also, his love for using technology in story-telling led him to pursue Web design. Jared has contributed to several publications in print and online, including Santa Monica Daily Press, GamePro, BPM, Vapors, SOMA and Lost in a Supermarket.
Jared is a former U.S. Marine and a current member of the Military Reporters and Editors Association, the National Press Photographers Association, the Marine Corps Association, Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, the Society of Professional Journalists, and the Poynter Institute.
Having joined Patch in May 2010 as a freelance video journalist, and as a staff editor in December 2010, Jared is excited to see where Patch takes online journalism in the years to come.
