The donation is impactful according to a spokesperson for the charity who told The Dispatch that food insecurity has increased significantly amid the coronavirus crisis.
St. Joseph’s Family Center Director of Community Engagement Vicky Martin said her group serves between 500 and 600 food boxes to families each day now, compared to around 100 before March, the report said.
“This allows families to have a holiday that they would not normally be able to afford this year,” Martin told The Dispatch.
