Gas Leak Near Los Gatos High School Secured, Main Street Reopened

All shelter-in-place orders have been lifted after a brief scare.

LOS GATOS, CA — A gas leak near Los Gatos High School that forced an evacuation and early dismissal on Monday was quickly secured.

The Santa Clara County Fire Department tweeted just before 2 p.m. that firefighters, Los Gatos police and PG&E were on the scene of a gas leak in the area of 285 Main Street. They had advised people in surrounding buildings to shelter-in-place.

Minutes later, the department said the gas leak had been secured and all shelter-in-place orders lifted. Main Street was reopened to through traffic.
