Los Gatos Obituary: Dorothy Milliken

A resident of Jensen Beach, Florida and Los Gatos. A funeral mass is set for Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church.

Dorothy Ann Milliken passed away on Saturday, February 13 after a valiant battle with cancer. All who knew her will miss her generous loving spirit.

Dorothy was born at Saint Elizabeth Hospital in New York City to Arthur Paul Hayes and Dorothy Mulholland Hayes on January 20, 1933. Dorothy grew up in the Bronx and graduated from St Helena’s Elementary School and Villa Maria Academy. She then attended and graduated from the College of Saint Elizabeth in New Jersey, and earned a Masters Degree in Gifted Education from Hunter College. Dorothy taught elementary school in the Bronx for 24 years.

Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Charles S. Milliken (Chuck); devoted children, Charles K. Milliken of Cedarburg, WI, Marianne Nelson of Los Gatos, and Kerry Milliken of Baltimore, MD and grandchildren, Nicole and Christopher Palermo of Los Gatos, Catherine and Rebecca Milliken of Cedarburg, WI, and Aidan Molnar of Calabasas, CA.

For the past 15 years Dorothy and Chuck have divided their time between Florida and Los Gatos. They are members of St. Mary’s Church in Los Gatos, CA, and St. Joseph’s Church in Stuart, FL., where Chuck sang in both choirs. Dorothy enjoyed playing bridge, reading political and financial literature, foreign travel, and tennis.

Friends and family are invited to a funeral mass on Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 219 Bean Ave, Los Gatos, CA 95030 (408) 354-3726. Burial to follow at Madronia Cemetery, Saratoga, CA.
