Los Gatos, SJ-area Fire, Crashes Challenged Morning Commuters

A fire and two crashes on highways 101 and 17 added to South Bay motorist challenges for the Wednesday morning commute.

LOS GATOS, CA — A fire broke out and quickly extinguished Wednesday morning on the northbound side of State Route 17 north of Los Gatos Saratoga Road in Los Gatos, the California Highway Patrol reported as of 8:06 a.m.

With the right shoulder blocked, motorists experienced delays through the area. The crash added to the morning commute headache anchored by an overturned dump truck in Milpitas that made traffic slow going. Both were cleared.

Also on Highway 17, a crash with injuries was also reported on the northbound side at the Interstate 280 interchange, affecting the lanes in that area and bringing on more delays, the CHP added. This incident had also cleared.
