Coyote Creek Drowning Victim Identified

The man was pulled out of the water at 1:50 a.m. Thursday in Coyote Creek at Old Almaden Road between Los Gatos and San Jose.

SAN JOSE, CA — A man who drowned in Coyote creek in south San Jose near Los Gatos early Thursday morning was identified as 37-year-old Kha Tran of San Jose, the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner reported.

The drowning was reported at 1:50 a.m. Thursday near Old Almaden Road and Almaden Expressway, police said. San Jose Fire Department crews were able to pull the man from the water and transported him to a hospital, where he died.

The man's name hasn't been released, pending the notification of the next of kin. The Santa Clara County medical examiner's office will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
