Power Outages Sprinkled Over South Bay Landscape

Up and down the Silicon Valley and southern Peninsula, PG&E utility crews are hopping to many outages since a strong Pacific storm blew in.

LOS GATOS, CA -- Howling winds in the storm billed as the strongest California has seen this winter knocked out power to a variety of places, including at one point 1,534 customers affected in the Cambrian Park area.

The outage occurred at 4:43 p.m. between Campbell and Los Gatos, Pacific Gas & Electric reported. Many have received power again.

Another outage was reported south of Los Gatos in the Lexington Hills. That outage occurred at 3:48 p.m. east of State Route 17. Along the State Route 85 corridor, almost 370 lost power before 5 p.m.

Farther north, 172 structures experienced an outage at 4:38 p.m. near Foothill College between Los Altos Hills and Foothills Park.

About 25 minutes earlier, 277 households or businesses were cut off of power, while another 111 had experienced the same fate in the Portola Valley at 2:25 p.m.

A late outage was reported at 6:47 p.m. affecting 661 customers in Saratoga. There is no estimated time when power will be restored.
