SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — The Santa Clara County Public Health Department reported 367 additional coronavirus cases Thursday.

The latest report brings the countywide case count to 106,372.

The county reported 31 additional coronavirus-related fatalities Thursday, bringing its COVID-19 death toll to 1,624.

There were 325 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in the county as of Thursday of which 93 were being treated in intensive care units.

Elsewhere in the Bay Area and beyond, Dr. Anthony Fauci painted an upbeat assessment of the vaccine rollout Thursday in an appearance on NBC’s “Today” show.

The nation’s leading infectious disease expert said that by April he expects “what I would call, for better wording, ‘open season,’ namely, virtually everybody and anybody in any category could start to get vaccinated.”

BART will offer free ride vouchers for Bay Area residents who receive a coronavirus vaccine at the upcoming Oakland Coliseum mass vaccination site, the transit agency said Thursday.

The vaccination site is expected to open Tuesday and will eventually have the capacity to administer up to 6,000 vaccine doses per day, state officials said earlier this month.

To help facilitate the thousands of vaccinations, BART will offer a free $7 fare ticket to those who show their vaccination card with a valid date.

Albany seniors and residents with physical disabilities can get free rides to vaccination appointments at Golden Gate Fields, a transportation provider said Wednesday.

Easy Does It Emergency Services will be providing the roundtrip rides to residents 60 years old and older and residents with physical disabilities though at the track, where only people 75 and up are being vaccinated currently.

Rides are available each day of the week and vans are equipped to lift wheelchairs and accommodate other mobility devices.
