South Bay Groping Suspect Sought

The victim was with her family shopping for Halloween costumes when the suspect touched her inappropriately, police said.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — Authorities are seeking the public's help identifying a groping suspect.

The suspect is sought in connection with an incident around noon Saturday at the Mountain View Walmart store at 600 Showers Drive that involved an adult female victim, police said.

The suspect is described as a 5-foot-10 black man in his 40's with a medium build weighing around 175 pounds, the Mountain View Police Department said.

He was last seen wearing a striped sky-blue polo shirt and black pants.

The victim was with her family shopping for Halloween costumes when the suspect touched her inappropriately, and then followed her to a different aisle and made additional inappropriate contact with the victim, police said.

The victim's husband tried to chase down the suspect, but he fled the scene by unknown means in an unknown direction, police said.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect from a photo the MVPD provided is asked to contact the agency at police@mountainview.gov.
