Forward Progress Stopped On Fast-Spreading South Bay Grass Fire
The fire in south San Jose was being driven by the wind and reported at 30 acres. Multiple units are responded, according to Cal Fire.

SAN JOSE, CA — Firefighters stopped forward progress a 30-acre vegetation fire in south San Jose that was reported to be spreading at a "dangerous rate" and was threatening one structure, according to Cal Fire. Smoke from the Silicon Fire was even visible from outer space.
The fire near Silicon Valley Boulevard and Basking Ridge Avenue was reported on Cal Fire SCU's Twitter account shortly before noon on Monday. Around 1:30 p.m., Cal Fire SCU said that forward progress was stopped and all air resources had been released.
Firefighters worked from both the ground and the air. No evacuation orders or warnings were in place, according to the San Jose Fire Department.
