Town Of Los Gatos: No-Cost Bike & Pedestrian Eco-Counters On The Los Gatos Creek Trail!

The Town is incorporating an exciting new opportunity to collect Bicycle and Pedestrian data that can be used to secure funding for improving bike and pedestrian facilities throughout Los Gatos.

This week, the Mobile MULTI Eco-Counters will be placed along the Los Gatos Creek Trail to record how many users utilize the path from Friday – Thursday. They will be collecting invaluable data for the Town, helping to reduce time staff needed to process manual counts, and making high volume data collection (such as along Los Gatos Creek Trail) possible. This is a no-cost loan program from the Active Transportation Resource Center. The Eco-Counters are based on non-intrusive technology, meaning that they will only record the number of people.  If you see one of the Eco-Counters along the Trail this week, please treat it as it was not there so we can capture the most accurate data possible. This data will help improve the connectively for cyclists and pedestrians across Los Gatos.
