Will The South Bay See 'Substantial' Rain This Weekend?

SOUTH BAY, CA — Much of the Golden State, including the South Bay, could see "substantial rain" soon, the National Weather Service said Monday.
NWS officials expect weather will cool Tuesday, and remain dry and cool through Friday, according to the Monday morning forecast. Increasing chances for rain will come Saturday and Sunday.
There was some disagreement about the possible timing and path of the rainclouds, but it appears rain could hit the Bay Area Sunday morning, according to NWS. Other areas of Northern California could see rain Saturday afternoon.

It's possible that the Bay Area could see light to moderate rain into early Tuesday of next week, according to NWS.
One NWS rain model forecast indicates rain could sweep the entire Bay Area, though San Mateo, Santa Cruz and Sonoma counties could see the most at nearly three inches. Much of Alameda, Napa, Santa Clara counties — plus a sliver of Contra Costa County — could also see more rain than inland parts of the Bay Area.

That same model currently indicates part of Central California could see nearly eight inches of rain.
