Frankfort Approves Purchase Of Public Works, Utilities Equipment
The board approved the purchase of a leaf collector, a Ford F-450 dump truck and an International dump truck.

The closing of the restaurant comes after its owner, Michael Papandrea, faces multiple lawsuits and charges of unauthorized video recording.
The carry-out restaurant at 21112 S. La Grange Road, will offer smoked BBQ favorites.

Both groups of students were recognized with resolutions from the LTHS board.
The health department is asking that all fully vaccinated residents continue to follow the status quo on COVID-19 precautions for now.
Four LTHS students placed first in their contests and advanced to the national competition, which will be held virtually in June.
"Why Do They Do That?" author Sandy Sotzen stopped by downtown Lemont and read her book to a local Girl Scout troop.
This marks the 11th straight season, not including 2020, that Lemont has advanced multiple students to the state finals.
The team’s top finish in state finals competition came in the Algebra II Written Team competition where a group of students finished ninth.
The challenge, "Reading Colors Your World," will run from June 7 to July 31.
Students who finished in the top 4 in their respective categories earn the right to participate in the FBLA National Leadership Conference.
The race and fitness walk is an evening chip-timed race, starting and finishing in the New Lenox Commons.
"As soon as we receive the guidelines and have time to adjust operations, the park district will make adjustments," the district said.
The district is beginning a strategic planning process, and is asking for community feedback.
Lockport was named "Strongest Town" in April as part of the Strong Towns contest.
